Penis Enlargement Before and After Pictures

Why get male enhancement surgery?

The times are changing: penile augmentation surgery is now a viable option for men seeking aesthetic enhancement. Since 2004, Penuma has helped thousands of men improve their lives through an innovative procedure with demonstrated results.

When a man believes he has an inadequate or small penis, he may experience low self-confidence and anxiety issues that affect other areas of his life. By making an informed choice to undergo a cosmetic procedure, a man can gain confidence, self-esteem and, with Penuma, an average of 1-2 inches in girth. (Flaccid penile length increases also reported, though individual results may vary.)

Choosing whether penis augmentation is right for you is an important personal decision. To help with the decision-making process, this article features information and photographs of real Penuma patients before and after penis enlargement surgery. We also look at photographs of other penis enlargement methods that have largely discouraging results.

Penis enlargement results: what happens after the Penuma procedure?

The Penuma implant is the first FDA-cleared penile implant for aesthetic enhancement. It can potentially increase the girth and flaccid length of the penis with a natural-feeling subdermal silicone implant. Penuma is available in multiple sizes, including L, XL and XXL, and is fitted to every man’s unique shape.

During the procedure, an incision is made on the scrotum to the side of the base of the penis. There is no incision made on the penis itself. The silicone implant is then inserted into the penis, where it wraps around the internal shaft.

Once in place, the Penuma implant is contoured to every man’s unique shape, and then secured in place. You can view an animated video of the procedure here.

Are there any side effects from the Penuma implant?

Penuma has a low adverse event rate comparable to silicone implants for other parts of the body. As demonstrated in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, the Penuma enhancement procedure did not interfere with penile functions of the urethra, erections, or ejaculation.

The penis can look and feel natural after insertion of the implant, and sexual function and sensation is typically back to normal following the 6-8 week healing period. No two men are the same, however, and individual results may vary.

Any surgical procedure, no matter how safe, runs the risk of complications. Following Penuma procedures, among the potential risks and complications, infection was found in 3% of cases. Seroma, or fluid build-up, in 5% of cases. Risks and complications can typically be averted through strict adherence to pre and post-op protocols.

Your Penuma physician will explain all possible risks and complications and how to reduce the potential of their occurrence. You can greatly reduce the risk of complications by closely following the guidelines you’ll be given by your Penuma physician.

The results of recent advancements in urological technology, the Penuma implant is made of medical-grade silicone.

Based on historical averages, a Penuma implant can potentially increase the girth of the penis by 1-2 inches. Flaccid penile length increases also reported, though results vary from man to man.

What’s the difference between Penuma and other penis enlargement procedures?

Unlike penis enlargement fillers, hyaluronic injections, and fat injections, the Penuma implant does not dissolve over time. Another key difference is that it’s been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration specifically for use within the penis.

Below are photos of the results of other major male enhancement methods.

NOTE: Penuma does not encourage fat injections, dermal fillers, hyaluronic injections, or AlloDerm grafts. The following material is solely for informational purposes.

Complications reported in this section are based on phalloplasty revision surgeries performed at our facilities due to previous procedures undergone by the patient elsewhere.

Fat Injection Results

Fat injections can entail a number of complications, including:

  • Mild to severe absorption with severe deformity
  • Skin adhesions
  • Skin scarring
  • Necrosis associated with severe deformity, and severe infections

The use of fat for penis augmentation is discouraged by the American Urological Association:

”The American Urological Association (AUA) and the Urology Care Foundation consider subcutaneous fat injection for increasing penile girth to be a procedure which has not been shown to be safe or efficacious.”

As a result, most urologists do not perform penile fat injection procedures.

A case of complications from fat injections is seen below.

Hyaluronic Acid Results

Another kind of injection is known as a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) injection. The most common side effect of HA injections is nodule formation, lumps, and bumps that happen as the gel filler becomes reabsorbed by the body. This can cause the penis to look deformed and misshapen.

According to the FDA, HA is considered an absorbable or temporary material. The effects of this material last approximately 6–12 months as the body absorbs the material into surrounding areas. This means that patients who decide to pursue this route will often be required to go in for many treatments. Even then, the effects are still temporary.

HA fillers may affect penis girth only. The injection of the material is in no way designed to have any effect on penis length. Therefore, men who seek a longer penis length should seek other options.

Below is an example of a common complication of HA injections.

AlloDerm Results

The regenerative properties of AlloDerm have benefited hernia and breast reconstructive procedures. However, the same properties may pose a high risk of failure if used in inappropriate locations of the body, including the penis.

The use of AlloDerm in penile enlargement procedures has resulted in many complications, including:

  • Asymmetric appearance of the penis
  • Temporary results, at best
  • Moderate to severe skin adhesion resulting in skin necrosis
  • Seroma or fluid buildup

Below is an example of the complications of an AlloDerm graft.

Cosmetic procedures for male enhancement: Which way to go?

Unlike injections and grafts, the Penuma implant is designed specifically for use within the penis, and is the only one to be cleared by the FDA for aesthetic use in the penis.
