Dr. José Antonio Saavedra Belaunde in San Juan, PR

A 2010 graduate of the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Dr. Saavedra completed a residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and has participated in advanced urology courses in Europe and the United States. He then studied at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, learning about revolutionary treatments concerning erectile dysfunction, cancer, male sexual health, prosthetics, and penile plastic surgery. Dr. Saavedra’s work has been published in numerous scientific journals, and he has developed innovative techniques for genital reconstruction.

Dr. Saavedra returned to Puerto Rico after learning about a great need for urology treatments stemming from sexual health issues. As the only urologist on the island with a subspecialty in sexual medicine, he founded the Puerto Rico Sexual Wellness Clinic, the first of its kind in Puerto Rico, to serve this population.
